Anthropic

schakl. talks to Anthropic directly, on your agency's own key. There is no middleman between your client data and the provider, and you pay Anthropic yourself.

What you need

  • An Anthropic account with an API key. You settle with Anthropic directly; there are no credits from us.
  • The ai.settings.manage permission to configure the provider. Admin-only by default.
  • A valid licence for the AI features. A fresh install gets a 14-day grace window first (SCHAKL_LICENSE_BOOTSTRAP_GRACE_DAYS).
  • SCHAKL_ENCRYPTION_KEY set on the server, or otherwise SCHAKL_SECRET_KEY: that is what encrypts the stored key.

How to connect it

  1. 1 Create an API key for this installation in your Anthropic console.
  2. 2 Open Instellingen → AI (Settings → AI) and set Provider to Anthropic. It is also the form's default.
  3. 3 Paste the key into API-sleutel (API key). The field is write-only: on a later save, leave it blank to keep the stored key.
  4. 4 Fill in Model, or press Modellen ophalen (fetch models) to pull Anthropic's current list. The built-in default is claude-opus-5.
  5. 5 Under Functies (features), switch on what you want: Assistent, Schrijfhulp, Urenhulp, Briefing & rapporten. Each one can take a different model under Eigen model (optioneel).
  6. 6 Describe how your agency writes under Huisstijl (house style, max 4000 characters); that text is prepended to every writing prompt. Optionally set a Maandelijks tokenbudget (monthly token budget); empty means unlimited.
  7. 7 Press Verbinding testen (test connection), then grant ai.use to the roles allowed to use the features, in Instellingen → Rollen (Settings → Roles).

Four features, independently switchable

Every AI feature in the app runs through the same core, so one key, one set of toggles and one budget apply everywhere at once. An agency that wants writing help but no chat assistant switches on exactly that.

  • Assistent: a slide-over from the top bar that inherits the record on a company, project or task page, and cites its sources as clickable chips
  • Schrijfhulp: improve, shorten, expand, spelling & grammar, business or informal tone, translate, write out; then replace or insert
  • Urenhulp: one line in Snel toevoegen on Uren becomes a draft time entry, plus Vul mijn dag aan for the gap between your schedule and what you logged
  • Briefing & rapporten: Brief me streams a digest of a client's recent activity, AI-rapport drafts a monthly report you edit and save

What gets recorded, and what does not

The Verbruik (usage) panel in Instellingen → AI shows this calendar month's requests and tokens per feature, with a bar that turns amber at 80% of the budget and red at 100%. What gets written down is counts and labels: the text of a prompt or a completion is never part of it.

Off means invisible

With no provider configured, no AI control is drawn anywhere in the app — the product does not nag for a key. At the bottom of Instellingen → AI, AI-configuratie verwijderen switches it all back off and keeps the usage history. Note that the enabled-feature list is cached per organisation for about thirty seconds, so a colleague may not see a just-enabled feature immediately.

Permissions

Grant these to the role that manages this integration (Settings → Roles). Admin-only by default, and never to the client role.

  • ai.settings.manage Manage Instellingen → AI: provider, key, model, features, house style, budget, the test button and the usage meter. Admin-only by default.
  • ai.use Use the AI features. Granted to admin and member by default, and declared on every AI route.

What it deliberately does not do

  • Anthropic has no transcription endpoint at all. Dictation on Uren therefore needs its own separate speech credential (OpenAI or an OpenAI-compatible server) in the same settings screen — reusing the chat key configures nothing here.
  • The assistant is read-only by design: it answers questions and never creates or changes a record.
  • The time assist returns a draft that prefills the form. It never creates a time entry on its own.
  • Model names are free text on purpose, so a new model needs no release. A typo surfaces as a provider error, never as a validation message.
  • The monthly budget is a soft cap for interactive use: on reaching it the UI offers Toch doorgaan (continue anyway). Non-interactive callers hard-stop.
  • There is no reasoning-effort setting yet, and the response ceiling is fixed at 8192 tokens.

Where to find it Instellingen → AI (Settings → AI), plus the Assistent slide-over in the top bar, the writing assist inside every rich-text field and Snel toevoegen (quick add) on Uren (Time).
